Description:
A pair of vintage silverplate and Lucite candlesticks with a form that manages to feel both mid-century and classically traditional. The turned silverplate collar and wide domed base have the weight and proportion of something much older, while the clear Lucite stem keeps them from reading as stuffy. The combination of materials is what makes them: solid and substantial in the hand, with the quiet glamour of lucite in the middle. Unmarked; attributed to mid-20th century American production based on materials and construction.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Silverplate shows even, naturally developed patina consistent with age — no pitting or losses observed. Lucite stems are clear with no yellowing. One candlestick retains its original flocked base cover; the other does not.
