Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks observed. Age-appropriate surface wear consistent with use.
ABOUT THIS PIECE
This little flower frog has a wonderfully organic quality. Its irregular textured dome and scattered openings are faintly reminiscent of a lotus seed pod, while the dark surface and touches of green give it an earthy appearance. The relatively large openings can accommodate thicker flower stems, woody material, and small branches. Marked “Made in Japan” on the underside.
INSPIRATION
Place it in a shallow stoneware or ceramic bowl and arrange just a few asymmetrical stems or small branches. Its low form also makes it interesting mixed with other vintage flower-arranging tools when not in use.
