Vintage Silverplate Footed Bowl, Ruffled Swirl Rim
Description:
A vintage silverplate bowl with a ruffled, undulating rim that spirals inward to a tight central coil — the whole form reads like a nautilus cross-section, or a wave caught mid-curl. Three ornate scroll feet lift it just enough to give the silhouette some drama. No maker's mark present; attributed to mid-20th century production based on form and construction.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Light surface scratches visible inside the bowl; some areas of tarnish on the exterior, consistent with age and normal handling. Retains a bright, reflective shine overall. No dents, repairs, or significant losses observed.
Approximate Dimensions:
8-3/4" wide × 8" long × 3" tall
Weight: 13.9 oz (0.87 lb)
Style Tip:
Set it out on a sideboard or console and let it do nothing — it earns its place as an object. In summer it's a natural home for seashells or smooth river stones; the rest of the year, a few votive candles or a small arrangement of fruit.
