ABOUT THIS PIECE
The creamy pastel-yellow border is decorated with symmetrical clusters of pink flowers connected by crisp green geometric lines. The porcelain bears the “Favorite” Bavaria backstamp associated with C. Hutschenreuther.

Imported European porcelain blanks were commonly used for china painting in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This plate was individually decorated, then signed “Maud Luick” and dated 1914 by the woman who painted it. Her carefully rendered border and graceful handwritten signature give the piece a particularly personal connection to that period tradition.
