CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition across all six available bowls. No chips, cracks, crazing, utensil marks, staining, or visible wear to the gold trim noted. The underside of one bowl has a few small dark manufacturing spots, shown in the close-up photo.
ABOUT THIS PIECE
The traditional rimmed soup form is broad and shallow, making these bowls equally useful for pasta and other dishes that benefit from a wide rim.
Syracuse China produced the Portland pattern from 1949 to 1966 on its Federal Shape. The pattern combines a central mixed-flower bouquet with smaller floral sprays around the broad rim, finished with a scalloped edge and gold trim.
INSPIRATION
Use these for soup, pasta, risotto, or other bowl meals, or mix them with coordinating vintage china for a collected table setting.
