A vintage hand-carved wood keepsake box with a Tree of Life motif, purple velvet-lined interior, and richly toned wood with the dark striping often associated with Indian rosewood or sheesham.

The Tree of Life design is carved into the lid and repeated on all four sides, giving the box decorative detail from every angle. The wood has a warm, darker tone with natural striping and visible open-grain texture, giving it a richer look than many lighter carved boxes of this type.

The interior is lined with purple velvet fabric trimmed in a light contrasting edge. Brass hinges with straight slotted screws and small visible nail heads along the base reflect traditional construction details. A small original paper label on the underside reads “India,” along with a hand-penciled inventory number.

Useful as a keepsake box, jewelry box, letter box, desk accent, or decorative storage piece for a shelf, sideboard, or stack of books.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. No cracks, chips, or structural damage observed. Lid closes cleanly and remains stable when fully opened. Interior lining is intact and clean. Light surface wear consistent with age and handling.
