CONDITION
Very good vintage condition. The brass has an aged patina with scattered dark spots and other small marks consistent with age. Please see the close-up photos for examples. The bookends are weighted and have a black protective covering on the base with three felt pads.
ABOUT THIS PIECE
These substantial brass pigs are designed as a facing pair, each seated upright with its front hooves raised to brace a row of books. Their sculpted faces, pointed ears, little hooves, and tightly curled tails give them plenty of personality without sacrificing their practical function. They are unmarked.
INSPIRATION
Use them on a bookshelf or desk where their faces and curled tails can be seen around a favorite row of books. They would also make a fun gift for a reader or collector of vintage brass animals.
