ABOUT THIS PIECE

A rectangular porcelain tray with a hand-painted spray of wild roses — cream and blush petals with deep rose centers, set against a center field that shades from white to soft yellow-green. The border is embossed in loose swirls and leaf forms, washed in mauve and lavender, and finished at the rim with a fine gold line. Signed by the artist in the floral field, signature partially legible. No maker's mark on the reverse.

INSPIRATION
Set it on a dresser or vanity to hold rings or a perfume bottle — the kind of object that makes a small daily habit feel special. It's also worth displaying empty, propped on a shelf where the embossed border and the painting can be appreciated the way you'd appreciate a small work of art.
